A Guide to Information and Articles
As a normal human being, we do worry about issues at times such as
financial issues, relationship issues, work and school issues but we worry on a
mild basis and do not spend a large amount of our time doing so. Unfortunately,
this is not the case for some others who are constantly worrying about
absolutely everything leading to what we know as
generalized anxiety disorder or
GAD for short.
In a situation where the signs of
danger is absolutely absent and any signs of impending danger is non-existent at
all. Even in this type of scenarios, a
generalized anxiety disorder or GAD
sufferer will almost certainly worry about the possible coming of a disaster.
This is the level of hypertension and exaggerated level of fear and worry that a
sufferer is subjecting to. These exaggerated level of worrying may be hard to
overcome as it is rather difficult for one to clearly identify the root causes
of these attacks.
These are perhaps the early warning symptoms of GAD. Other types of
generalized anxiety disorder symptoms are excessive amounts of anxiety and
worry. These feelings can persist for many days up to a few months. The chronic
anxiety and worry can occur due to any event or activity that you will be
participating in. These feelings of worry are difficult to control for the GAD
sufferer.
In order for doctors to properly prescribed medications to cure
general anxiety disorder, the symptoms must be observed to have occurred for a
few days at a stretch for a minimum period of 6 months. Otherwise, what one
feels as general anxiety disorder may be nothing more than a period in ones
life where he/she is having a series of challenges in that part of his/her life,
thus the worrying and anxiety frequency during that phase of life.
A chronic sufferer of generalized anxiety disorder can worry about not having
a panic attack, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, separation anxiety
and even gaining large amounts of weight. This includes somation disorder where
you have multiple physical complaints, a serious or life threatening illness. The physical symptoms inherent to generalized anxiety disorder must also be
present within the same six month time period that your other generalized
anxiety disorder symptoms are present. These can be feelings of being keyed up,
restlessness, tiredness or fatigue and difficulty concentrating. Symptoms can
also include a tendency for your mind to go blank, irritability, tension, and
disturbed sleep patterns.
Multiple signs exist to tell if one is indeed
suffering from anxiety disorder. Therefore, one should take prudence and notice
for signs that one is indeed suffering from
general anxiety disorder and upon
recognizing this, seek medications immediately so that you can live a more
fulfilling and fruitful life free from anxiety and panic.
